Patient-friendly
Cavex Outline is based on natural ingredients and does not contain eugenol. Therefore, it does not cause irritation, stinging, or a burning sensation when in contact with the soft tissues. Cavex Outline has a naturally pleasant odor and is fully cured after 3 minutes, thanks to the intra-oral snap set. After removal from the mouth, it does not leave any residue on the palate or other soft mouth tissues.
Perfect fit
Silicones are often used for rebasing or relining as they are already present in many dental practices. However, silicones are mainly developed for C&B impressions. The viscosity of silicones is not optimized for rebasing impressions and after setting the silicones are too flexible. This often causes a non-exact indication of the resorption spot resulting in a prosthesis that will not immediately fit. In most cases, the user has to do re-work at chair-side before the prosthesis can be worn without any irritation.
Ideal working properties
The blue and white paste with a fine structure results in a homogenous paste within 30 seconds of mixing. The thixotropic mixture will easily flow under the slightest pressure ensuring an accurate registration of all soft tissue but without deformation of the soft tissue. It shows sufficient time to simulate various mouth movements indicating the resorption perfectly. When Cavex Outline is cured the impression is non-elastic and has got a high final hardness. This enables the user to shape and model the impression without crumbling or tearing. The model is dimensional stable for at least 7 days and shows excellent gypsum compatibility.
